New Cakes!
I'm a horrible blogger. I'm so slow at posting stuff. I made these cakes a few weeks ago. They turned out really cute.
A mad hatter cake for an Alice in Wonderland theme first birthday party. The teapot on top is the smash cake for the little girl.
A cupcake pull-apart cake for a farm theme birthday party.

Finally Done!
It's been forever since I posted, but I am glad to say that I am finally completely done with the reversible dresses I have been working on. I am also extremely glad that I made it one size bigger, since it took me about 6 months to finish it. I don't think I'm ever going to do applique by hand again though. It takes way too long. I'll have to practice doing it with the sewing machine.

Peasant Dresses
I made these two adorable peasant dresses for a friend of mine. She had a few fabric remnants that I thought would be perfect as matching dresses for her daughters. I made the first one with ruffle sleeves, but I only had enough fabric remaining for cap sleeves for the second.
These dresses were made from this wonderful tutorial.

Fat Quarter Pillow Case Dresses
I finally finished the dresses I have been working on. They turned out beautifully.
This dress is for a friend of my daughter. We were invited to her birthday party on Saturday, so this will be part of her gift.
This orange and blue one is for my daughter. I will probably have her wear it to the party.
I followed this tutorial.

White Chocolate Strawberry Cupcakes
My other passion and artistic outlet is baking and cake decorating. I'm going to be doing a wedding cake in a few weeks, which I'm really excited about. It will be four tiers with chocolate icing. I'm going to make a big fondant bow for the top and maybe some cornelli lace details.
Here at some cupcakes that I made a while back. The cupcake is white chocolate with fresh strawberries mixed into the batter. The icing was white chocolate mousse icing with strawberry coulis drizzled on top. And the white chocolate chips sprinkled on top of that. They were absolutely amazing. I'm going to have to make them again sometime soon.
I have a love/hate relationship with my serger. I hated it last night when I spent about 45 minutes threading and rethreading it after a thread snapped. Then after I finished sewing all my dress panels together in about 10 minutes, I remembered why and how much I love it. I love finishing edges with it. I hate having to zigzag edges of fabric. This is so much quicker. Except for the set up. Hopefully, I won't be having to rethreading it for a long time.
I'm almost completely finished with one of the pillow case dresses. It just needs a sash, but I have to buy more thread for that one. The other one is almost done too. I'll take photos and post later.
